The steering vertical arm is the steering transmission link mechanism in the steering mechanism of the steering vertical arm type vehicle. It is the part that converts the radial movement of the steering column or the steering shaft into linear movement to rotate the wheel. The steering vertical arm is the first of three angular rotary rods that transmit the steering input to the steering bars, which in turn move the left and right steering bars and their respective wheels. The other two linkage mechanisms are idler arms, which are attached to the ends of the tie bar as stabilizers. The steering arm is an important part of the vehicle steering system. When worn or damaged, it may cause serious steering loss. Steering Vertical arm steering systems are most commonly found on older vehicles and heavy trucks.
